The Icelandic psycho-thriller Case produced by Sagafilm for Channel 2 has been picked up for international distribution by Red Arrow International, alongside two seasons of the legal drama Réttur (The Court) from which Case derives.

This is the first collaboration between one of Iceland’s leading content creators and ProSieben Sat1’s world distribution subsidiary.

The 9x60’ series directed by Baldvin Z (Life in a Fishbowl, Trapped) premiered in October in Iceland and dominated TV ratings with an 80% share of viewing. Using Rettur’s main character, washed up lawyer Logi Traustason (Magnús Jónsson) as key investigator in a young girl’s death, the series explores the impact a single tragedy has on the fragile bonds of a small community, and the danger of social media.

Henrik Pabst, Managing Director of Red Arrow International said: “Case comes from the tradition of Scandi crime shows, but the Reykjavik setting in a small, closed community puts a whole new and exciting twist on the genre.” The TV show was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Other Scandi TV dramas handled by Red Arrow International include Lilyhammer and 100 Code
