The Swedish thriller series starring Ola Rapace has set a new viewing record on TV4 group’s streaming service.
Farang was the most popular TV series during its opening month in March and the third Swedish show in a row - after Gåsmamman season 2 and Colin Nutley’s Missing - to set a viewing record on Bonnier’s SVOD platform. A contributing factor to its success was the fact that since March, all previous TV4 Play Premium customers have been transferred to C More.
C More Programme Manager Bo Thörnwall said: “After the initial success of our co-produced shows, we had high hopes for Farang which ended up exceeding our expectations. This s a good sign for our future TV dramas such as Hamilton, The Conductor from St Petersburg and the new Beck TV movies."
Several returning seasons of hit Swedish shows will premiere later this spring and in the autumn: Torpederna season 2, Modus season 2 and Gåsmamman season 3.
Farang was produced by Eyeworks Scandi Fiction, in association with Matador Film and support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Red Arrow International handles world sales.
