The film's Oscar's nomination comes exactly one year after it had its successful world premiere at Venice's Critics week where it won the Audience-Critics Week award and UNESCO-Hope award. August's adaptation of Susanna Alakoski's eponymous novel also won three Guldbagge awards including Best Director.
The film sold around 650,000 tickets across Scandinavia of which 400,000 in Sweden.
The star actress/director Pernilla August is currently touring the Nordic region with her film as part of the Nordic Council Film Prize promotion.
The five films nominated for Best Foreign Language Film will be announced on January 24, 2012 and the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles will take place on February 26.
