The board of directors of TV2 Denmark has asked Per Mikael Jensen to resign from his current position as CEO of the Danish commercial broadcaster, following his decision to re-join Metro International next November as the company's new CEO and President.

Jensen left Metro International, the worldwide free newspaper publishing company for which he was global editor in chief, just over a year ago to head the state-owned TV2 Denmark. He leaves the leading Danish free-to-air TV channel (partner in Nordisk Film & TV Fond) in a healthy financial state.

Metro International is intimately linked to Stockholm-based Modern Times Group which is TV2 Denmark's main competitor on the country's commercial TV market which explains the board's decision to have Jensen leave the company earlier than scheduled. TV2 Denmark is now hunting for a new CEO. In the meantime, the company's financial director Anders Kronborg will fill in for him.
