The 32nd Film Festival in Sodankylä unspools June 14-18, 2017.

Since Aki Kaurismäki and Mika Kaurismäki founded the festival in 1986, together with the Municipality of Sodankylä, some of the world’s most famous contemporary filmmakers have been attracted to the informal and unique atmosphere where films are shown 24h a day in the heart of Finnish Lapland.

This year, Spanish master Carlos Saura is among the special guests, alongside Danish director Per Fly and his actress wife Charlotte Fich, French director Betrand Bonello, Russian writer/director Aleksandr Mindadze, US director/film critic Gabe Klinger and German director Kai Wessel.

The Midnight Sun Film Festival’s full programme will be announced later this spring. Last year more than 28,000 visitors attended the event.
