Nordisk Film’s comedy with a stellar Danish ensemble cast opened Thursday in Denmark on 155 screens.

LevelK has added to her American Film Market slate actress Paprika Steen’s fourth feature film as a director, penned by Jakob Weiss with whom she collaborated on her acclaimed 2018 film That Time of Year, six times Robert nominated.

Fathers & Mothers (Fædre og mødre) is a modern comedy about the married couple Piv (Katrine Greis-Rosenthal) and Ulrik (Jacob Lohmann), who fight to be part of the parents’ group in their daughter’s new class. They experience parenthood to an excessive degree, and must even take part in a popular camping trip. The question is how far are the willing to go for their child?

The film’s star-studded cast also includes Amanda Collin (The Bastard, A Horrible Woman), Nikolaj Lie Kaas (Riders of Justice), Maria Rossing (Carmen Curlers), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lars Brygmann (Riders of Justice), Mikael Birkkjær (Borgen) and Rasmus Bjerg (Wild Men).

Fathers & Mothers was produced by Tomas Radoor for Nordisk Film Production Denmark, with support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
