As part of its December round of production support, Nordisk Film & TV Fond has allocated its largest grant of NOK2.050.000 to Heaven on Earth (Så ock på Jorden), the sequel to the 2005 Swedish Academy Award nominated As it is in Heaven. Other grant recipients are the animation film Knutsen & Ludvigsen and documentary Fonko by Göran Hugo Olsson.
With Heaven on Earth, director/writer Kay Pollak has reunited some of the key actors from the 2004 hit As it is in Heaven such as Frida Hallgren, André Sjöberg, Lennart Jähkel and Niklas Falk. He goes back to the story of the choir of a small Swedish village and to soprano singer Lena, expecting the child of the choir conductor (Michael Nyqvist) who passed away in the original film. Anders Birkeland produces for GF Studios, with Svensk Filmindustri as co-producer. SF International will start pre-sales in Berlin.
The animation Knutsen & Ludvigsen og den fæle Rasputin produced by Eric Vogel (Tordenfilm) and executive produced by Aage Aaberge (Neofilm) was granted NOK1.500.000. Director Rasmus A. Sivertsen (Solan and Ludvig: Christmas in Pinchcliffe) has teamed up with Rune Spaans (Ploddy the Police Car on the Case) for this musical road movie about two old friends and a badger who embark on a grand adventure. Co-producers are Qvisten Animation (Norway) and Atmo Media Network (Sweden). Domestic distribution via Norsk Filmdistribusjon is set for September 2015.
Fonko by Göran Hugo Olsson (The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975) is a portrait of contemporary Africa through its urban music.. The film produced by Tobias Janson (Story AB) was granted NOK 550.000. First Hand Films handles world sales. A three part TV series will air on SVT, DR, NRK, YLE and Australian SBS.
