J.P Passi wins prestigious Golden Camera 300.

The  award is for The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki was presented by the Manaki Brothers International Cinematographer’s Film Festival at Bitola, Macedonia on Saturday.

Other films that were nominated at the oldest cinematography film festival in the world include The Neon Demon and Toni Erdmann.

The jury said that Passi’s work in The Happiest Day… creates “a genuine and lyrical atmosphere that surrounds the audience and captures the spirit of time and the unique experience of its protagonist.”

This is J.P. Passi's first cinematography award on a feature film. The multi-talented Passi has worked on documentaries as writer/director -The Punk Syndrome and cinematographer - The Living Room of the Nation and Once I Dreamt of Life.

Meanwhile Juho Kuosmanen’s The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki has just been nominated as European Discovery 2016/FIPRESCI candidate at the European Film Awards. The winner among five candidates will be announced on December 10.

The Finnish Oscar entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category is also running for the 2016 Nordic Council Film Prize.
