NRK’s State of Happiness 2, Rod Knock 3 and Luka and the Magical Tivoli Theatre are competing for best drama series against Viaplay’s Pørni.
Norway’s pubcaster NRK is by far leading the nominations at the annual Norwegian TV awards, with a record 48 nods, followed by TV2 Norway (14), Warner Bros-Discovery (7), Nent Group/Viaplay (4), VGTV and BRA TV (1 each).
In the drama category, NRK’s youth coming-of-age show Rod Knock 3 (Rådebank 3) produced by Fenomen and Storyline, is triple nominated for best series, best leading actor (Maja Christiansen) and best supporting actor (Odin Waage). Beta Film is handling sales.
Viaplay’s comedy drama Pørni created by popular actress Henriette Steenstrup is competing in the same categories, with the best leading actor and supporting actor nods going to Steenstrup and rising talent Vivild Falk Berg. The series has picked up on April 27 two ‘Fagprisene’- behind the camera TV awards- for best editing-TV drama (André Saltrøe, Karsten Meinich, Erik Thorvald) and best screenplay-TV drama (Steenstrup). Monster and NRK are also attached to the family Christmas calendar series Luka and the Magical Tivoli Theatre, running for series of the year. Sola Media handles sales.
NRK’s State of Happiness 2 (Lykkeland 2) produced by Maipo Film has two Gullruten nominations for best series and supporting actor (Pia Tjelta). The period drama won a few days earlier no less than 4 Fagprisene for best directing (Petter Næss), costume (Karen Fabritius Gram), cinematography (Lars Vestergaard) and props (Christine Bozenski). Finnish star Krista Kosonen has a chance to win best leading role for her performance in HBO Max’s sci-fi Beforeigners 2 produced by Rubicon TV. The series has already collected four Fagprisene for best VFX (Otto Thorbjørnsen) and best sound (Bård Farbu, Morten Fagelund, Erik Watland).
Rubicon’s other high-end show Countrymen (Jordbrukerne) produced for NRK, collected just one nomination for main actor Nader Khademi. The series was nominated for this year’s Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. Banijay Rights handles sales.
