The documentary series, produced by Fabelaktiv for NRK Super, has been nominated in the Kids: Factual & Entertainment category in the prestigious 2026 International Emmy Awards.

Norwegian children’s series Adventurous Noah (Nysgjerrige Noah) is in the running for one of television’s most prestigious awards after receiving a nomination in the Kids: Factual & Entertainment category at this year’s International Emmy Awards.

The eight-part documentary series follows six-year-old Noah and his family as they travel across Norway in a small caravan on a “treasure hunt”. Along the way, they explore the natural world and learn about sustainability, environmental protection and animal-friendly food production.

The series is directed by Marianne Sleire and produced by Arild Halvorsen.

Producer Arild Halvorsen told NRK that the nomination “feels absolutely fantastic”, adding that he is very proud.

“It is a series that I consider very honest. It speaks to children and families about issues that are clearly important in today’s world. It was also made by a team at Fabelaktiv with extensive experience of producing television for this audience,” he told NRK.

Adventurous Noah is the only Nordic title nominated this year. According to the International Academy, the category covers “any non-fiction programme devoted to entertain and/or inform a young audience”.

In total, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced 64 nominees across 16 categories, representing 22 countries. The winners will be announced at the 54th International Emmy Awards Gala in New York on November 23. The International Emmy Awards honour excellence in television produced and initially aired outside the United States. Presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, they are separate from the US-based Emmy competitions.

This is not the first time Fabelaktiv’s work has attracted international recognition. The Norwegian production company and broadcaster NRK won the Kids: Non-Scripted Entertainment category at the International Emmy Kids Awards in 2013 for Energy Survival (Energikampen). Sweden’s Wild Kids, produced by Jarowskij for SVT, won the same category in 2015.
