About the job

The position is open from June 2026, and is a fixed-term appointment of 5 + 5 years.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond (NFTVF) top-finances Nordic films, drama series and creative documentaries. As Fiction Advisor, you will play a key role in strengthening Nordic fiction films and drama series, contributing to high artistic quality and strong Nordic and international distribution.

You will be responsible for assessing fiction applications on artistic and financial grounds, and for following projects throughout the support process. You will serve as NFTVF’s expert on the Nordic and international film and drama series landscape.

Who are you?

You have extensive knowledge of the Nordic and international fiction industry and market, and solid experience from financing processes and from professional project dialogues.

You are skilled at identifying the artistic and market potential of fiction projects with the capacity to travel across the Nordic region and internationally. You are comfortable formulating clear, well-founded recommendations and discussing them in decision-making contexts.

You work independently and with precision, while also valuing collaboration within a small and engaged team. You enjoy professional exchange and networking across borders. You speak and write one Scandinavian language fluently, and you are able to carry out thorough evaluations of applications submitted in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and English.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assess applications’ eligibility in accordance with NFTVF’s guidelines
  • Evaluate projects with regard to artistic quality, production scope, financing, and distribution potential from a Nordic perspective
  • Assess the financial structure and solidity of applications
  • Prepare and present written recommendations for top-financing in decision meetings with the CEO
  • Follow up supported projects, including support agreements, payment instalments and approval of rough cuts
  • Participate in organising NFTVF's labs, events and other initiatives
  • Maintain close and continuous dialogues with the Nordic film and drama series communities, and represent NFTVF at selected industry events
  • Stay up to date on developments in the Nordic and international fiction industry

Required qualifications:

  • Relevant education, minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Equivalent professional experience may compensate for formal education
  • Documented experience from, and a strong understanding of, the fiction industry
  • Knowledge of key financing and distribution models for film and drama series with international potential
  • Experience in analysing and evaluating works in progress
  • Excellent English skills, written and spoken. Proficiency with standard digital tools and systems

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong interest in Nordic collaboration and international co-financing
  • Experience from creative work in the audiovisual industry and dramaturgical competence
  • Familiarity with public funding schemes and the commissioning and financing of films and drama series
