Mille Dinesen, Lærke Winther and Stephania Potalino headline the Danish comedy film about female friendship penned by Claudia Boderke and Lars Mering.
The writing duo Boderke and Mering were nominated this year for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize-Best Nordic screenplay for TV2 Charlie’s hit series The New Nurses.
Their new feature project Jagtesæson (‘Hunting Season’) is directed by Tilde Harkamp (Pros and Cons) for Nordisk Film Production. The comedy tells of the newly divorced single mother Eva (Rita’s Mille Dinesen of Rita) who spends a Spa weekend with her childhood friend Marlene (Dicte’s Lærke Winther) to help her through her mid-life crisis. Also on the trip is Isabella (Something’s Rockin’s Stephania Potalivo), the new young girlfriend of Eva's ex-husband.
Harkamp says: “Hunting Season is a film about a strong connection between girlfriends and the challenges of the modern family. Lars Mering and Claudia Boderke have succeeded in writing an extremely funny, but also emotional story. It’s a tale of friendship, love and jealousy, and a fun movie for both men and women who can see past everyday doom and gloom.”
Co-stars include Lars Ranthe (Warrior), Rasmus Botoft (Something’s Rockin’) Jon Lange (Hope, Something’s Rockin’), Tommy Kenter (Below the Surface) and Asger Reher (The Killing). Crew members include Niels A. Hansen (Pros & Cons), production designer Trine Padmo (Northwest, Dicte), and composer Jeppe Kaas (Headhunters, The Shamer’s Daughter).
The film is produced by Tomas Radoor of Nordisk Film Production in association with FilmFyn, DR, with support from the Danish Film Institute.
Filming is underway on the island of Fyn until April 5. The theatrical release via Nordisk Film is set for October 3, 2019.
