“To find the right successor of our much-appreciated documentary expert and adviser Karolina Lidin, NFTVF performed a thorough selection process among the 25 prominent applicants from all Nordic countries. Upon his valuable experience of public funding, Ove has mentored and moderated Nordic, European, American and Asian documentary forums, some of which are specialised in content for younger audiences and interactive media. His impressive list of merits also includes producing and co-producing successful Nordic documentaries and organising international documentary workshops. He is an open-minded and collaborative team member as well as a strategic thinker and documentary expert.”
Nordisk Film & TV Fond recognises Rishøj Jensen’s comprehensive expertise in high-quality content, international market demands, funding structures, and creative development as highly relevant for the role of Documentary Advisor. Through his company Paradiddle Pictures, Rishøj Jensen has led the workshop series DocCelerator, which has provided dramaturgical guidance to more than 350 filmmakers from all corners of the world. “I look very much forward to my work as Documentary Advisor at Nordisk Film & TV Fond. I feel very grateful for the opportunity to now work closer with the strong Nordic documentary scene. To succeed Karolina Lidin in this position is something very special for me, as she was the first person to offer me a full-time job, when I more than 20 years ago entered the documentary industry,” says Ove Rishøj Jensen.
Rishøj Jensen also brings extensive knowledge of Nordic funding and distribution systems through his work as producer at the Swedish production company Auto Images. His credits include documentaries like Nelly & Nadine, Only the Devil Lives Without Hope (Endast djävulen lever utan hopp), and Some of Us Walk in Raggedy Shoes (Somliga går med trasiga skor).
