The pact between the partners covers all feature films in development and production for a three-year period.

Set up in 2019, the fast-expanding Scandinavian Content Group is headed by a group of senior Swedish film executives including CEO Hans Engholm (formerly at TV4, Eyeworks/WB and Nordic CEO of ITV Studios), Head of Drama/Producer Börje Hansson (co-founder of Filmlance International), Head of Scripted Content Paolo Vacirca (former head of development at SF) and Head of Documentaries/Editor Lise Bergvall.

The production outfit’s recent credits include Netflix’s drama series Clark starring Bill Skarsgård and the Guldbagge audience winning chiller Feed by Johannes Persson, released domestically by Nordisk Film.

The first look deal with the Egmont-owned film group was negotiated by Hansson and Nordisk Film’s VP of Sales & Acquisition Rasmus Krogh.

“We are impressed with Scandinavian Content Group's ambitions and future slate of projects that are aimed at reaching local audiences with strong, current, and fast-paced films,” said Kenneth Wiberg, Senior Vice President, Nordisk Film who stressed that the deal will allow his company to further expand its “strategic foothold in Sweden, and to strengthen its Swedish position, “especially when it comes to delivering great films for the cinemas.”.

“Through our successful collaboration with Nordisk Film on the award-winning feature Feed, we realised that we share the same view when it comes to stories, strong local content with an appeal for the international market, and even methodology in producing,” noted Engholm. “Together we have proved that there is no conflict between high quality and a shorter time to market than usual in our industry. In the fast-changing landscape we are operating in, we simply try to do things in a different way. That is why we are incredibly proud of this deal with Nordisk Film,” said the seasoned film and TV executive.
