Nordisk Film+ is the new VOD service bringing a range of Danish, Nordic films and international blockbusters to YouSee’s Danish customers.

The streaming brand ‘Nordisk Film+’ kick starts in Denmark on YouSee’s Bland Selv package, and will soon be available in the rest of the Nordics, according to Kenneth Wiberg, managing director of Nordisk Film Distribution.

Nordisk Film+’s catalogue will be renewed every week with new titles to sustain viewers’ interest and want to see. "At Nordisk Film, we produce and buy a wide range of films, and we have long dreamed of gathering our titles on our own service" he said.

Jacob Mortensen, Director of YouSee added: "We are thrilled that in cooperation with Nordisk Film, we can offer our customers, a streaming service with quality films from Denmark and our Scandinavian neighbours. It is crucial that we, as a small country, and as part of the Nordic region, also watch films that reflect our history, everyday life and special humour".

According to a research from Nordisk Film Consumer Insight, 66 percent of Danish viewers subscribing to a streaming service prefer to watch Danish content and 48 percent of these viewers watch a film every week.

Nordisk Film is already a content provider to the streaming service Dansk Filmskat, dedicated to film classics, and to Min Bio, for family quality entertainment.

So far the Bland Selv package on TDC Group’s YouSee provider has more than 200,000 Danish customers. Besides Nordisk Film+, another strong film brand was added to Bland Selv: Fox+ bringing under the same umbrella the large library of titles from 21st Century Fox.
