Starting December 1st, Danish kids will have access to more than 350 hours of new and existing TV series, animation, films and factuals on TV2’s streamer TV2 Play.

Nordisk Film’s deal with TV2 Denmark follows up on its existing partnership with TV2 Norway on its Oiii kids universe, launched in December 2019. 

Targeting kids aged 3-11, Oiii combines original Danish quality entertainment with the best programmes from the Nordics - including Norwegian-produced children's content dubbed in Danish, as well as hand-picked international programmes on Nordisk Film’s catalogue such as the popular animated brands Barbapapa, Bob the Builder and Mash and the Bear.

Six new Oiii’riginals will be produced by Nordisk Film and Drive Studios each year, starting with the fiction series Bertil og Bæltetasken (Bertil and the Belt Bag), supported by the Danish Film Institute’s Public Service Fund.  Other Oiii'riginals include Oiii'gården (The Oiii Farm) about the lives of three siblings on an organic farm, and Jul i Historiehulen (‘Christmas at the Story Cave’), where a Christmas adventure in the best slow TV tradition, is read aloud, with a new episode every day in December.

The Oiii content will be available both on TV2 Play’s own programmes of comprehensive kids content, and on a separate digital channel on TV2’s streaming service.

We want to be a place where children can feel it’s cool to be a child, and where they can have fun and learn something at the same time.”

TV 2's programme director, Lotte Lindegaard said: “With this new Oiii partnership with Nordisk Film, we are strengthening TV 2's offer to families with children, and creating a local universe on streaming that reflects the life that children in Denmark and the Nordic countries experience and are familiar with.”

For Kenneth Wiberg, Nordisk Film Distribution’s managing director, the Oiii kids universe is a natural continuation and strengthening of Nordisk Film's long-standing tradition of gathering Nordic children and families around good family entertainment.
