The Swedish feature film Bamse and the City of Thieves, Icelandic TV series The Press-Season 3 and Danish documentary The Expedition to the End of the World are among six films that received a total of NOK3,380,000 from Nordisk Film & TV Fond in its May round of production support.

Christian Ryltenius' animation project Bamse and the City of Thieves (pictured - Bamse och tjuvstaden) was allocated the largest grant of NOK1,500,000. Based on an original script by Johan Kindblom and Thomas Tivemark, the first adventures of Rune Andréasson's ‘Bamse bear on the silver screen is produced by Jon Nordstedt for Tre Vänner. Nordisk Film will handle the domestic release at the end of 2013.

The third season of the crime series The Press produced by Saga Film for Channel 2 in Iceland was awarded NOK750,000. Oskar Jónasson (Reykjavik-Rotterdam) is currently filming six new episodes written by the experienced Sigurjón Kjartansson (Black Angels) and up and coming J. Ævar Grímsson (Day, Night, Prison Shift series). The Press deals with real world issues like media ownership, immigration and organized crime through the eyes of the single mom Lára, a strong female journalist who investigates mysterious crime cases. Season 2 won an Edda for Best Scripted TV series last year. The NOK 7,800,000 series will premiere on Channel 2 on October 21st, 2012.

The Expedition to the End of the World is a collective documentary film reuniting directors Janus Metz (Armadillo), Daniel Dencik and producer Michael Haslund-Christensen (Haslund Film). In the summer 2011, the three men joined a group of scientists and artists on board the ship Activ that ventured into the fjord system in the Northeast Greenland to explore one of the last virgin territories on Earth. The film explores the origins of the world, the end of humankind and life on earth once we're gone. Delivery date is set for November 2012.

The documentary was granted NOK500.000.

A different aspect of man's psyche and obsessions is captured in Mats Bigert's documentary film If You Don't Like the Weather, Change It! The film, produced by Sweden's Hysteria Film evokes man's eternal struggle to control and create the perfect weather. The Danish film Democrats directed by Camilla Nielsson for Upfront Film features the creation of a new constitution in Zimbabwe by democratic means. Där ute is an animated documentary based on real interviews, made by Swedish top music video and commercials director Jonas Odell. Johan Edström is producing.
