Nordic Region competes for four Rose d’Or - three C21 Drama Awards

Each of the awards will frame the industry event Content London unfolding November 28-December 1st, 2022.

The nominees for the European Broadcasting Union’s flagship Rose d’Or Awards were selected among 750 entries across 12 categories by a jury of over 100 broadcast executives and producers, from across the international television industry.

The multi-awarded Swedish documentary The Most Beautiful Boy in the World produced by Mantaray Film for SVT, is running against five English-language productions in the Arts section. The film co-directed by Kristina Lindström and Kristian Petri recently picked up a Prix Europa for Best European Documentary.

Sweden is also represented in the Comedy category with the series Lust produced by Miso Film Sweden for HBO Max. The six-part series starring Sofia Helin, Anja Lundqvist, Julia Dufvenius and Elin Klinga as four middle(ish) women struggling to keep their libidos alive, premiered on HBO Max on March 18, 2022.

Among the six high-end international series vying for a Rose d’or Best Drama are Denmark’s Borgen-Power & Glory produced by SAM Productions for Netflix and DR, and Norway’s State of Happiness season 2, produced by Maipo Film for NRK.

The Adam Price created political thriller Borgen-Power & Glory is also running for a C21 Drama Award in the Best Non-English Language category alongside the Norwegian comedy Countrymen, produced by Rubicon for NRK.

Finally the Swedish crime show Clark produced by Scandinavian Content Group for Netflix is running for Best Mini-Series. Bill Skarsgård recently picked up a Kristallen Best Actor award for his role as the notorious criminal Clark Olofsson whose infamous crimes gave rise to the term Stockholm Syndrome. The series premiered on Netflix May 5, 2022.
