"We are following the company's tradition of representing high quality European cinema, and with these additions to our Berlin Market line up, we will have an even stronger start for 2008," commented Judith Toth, Sales Executive. "As usual NonStop Sales will present films from all genres, from family animation like Gnomes and Trolls which we will pre-screen a promo of, to the festival drama The King of Ping Pong. Like many friends in the industry, we have been eagerly awaiting Jens Jonsson's debut feature, and I can certainly say that the waiting was well worth it. The film's festival success is more than deserved!"
Jens Jonsson's The King of Ping Pong came back from the Sundance Film Festival with two top awards and rave reviews, and is currently screening in competition in Rotterdam and in Göteborg.
The Kautokeino Rebellion by Nils Gaup (Pathfinder) is currently number one at the Norwegian Top Ten with over 120,000 admissions after 10 days on domestic screens. The youth film Switch directed by Ole Martin Hafsmo and produced by Jørgen Storm Rosenberg was last year's third biggest domestic hit in Norway with close to 200,000 admissions.
Those three new pick-ups will have their market premiere at the European Film Market in Berlin. Other new titles on NonStop's line-up include the Dutch thriller Blood Brothers by Arno Dierickx, the children's animated film and TV series Gnomes and Trolls executive produced by Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow (Toy Story) and the Estonian award-winning youth drama The Class by Illmar Raag.
