The current Chief Content Officer at SF Studios will take up her new role at Netflix on September 1st.

Based out of the US streamer’s new Stockholm hub, Björk will be heading Netflix’s Original Series’ team, reporting to Larry Tanz, VP, Head of Original Series, EMEA.

She will work alongside Claire Willats, responsible for Netflix’s Original Film slate in the Nordics, reporting to Lina Brouneus, Director Film Acquisitions for the EMEA region.

Björk will be replacing Tesha Crawford who will move to a new position at Netflix, as Director of Global Franchises.

The Swedish executive has worked for the last seven years at SF Studios, first as Executive VP Acquisitions and Co-productions, before being promoted as CCO in 2016. As such, she has contributed to building the Scandinavian majors’ strong slate of 20-25 Nordic films and co-productions a year, including the upcoming mainstream features Margrete-Queen of the North by Charlotte Sieling and The Emigrants by Erik Poppe.

Prior to joining SF Studios, Björk who has a background as a literary agent, worked for Tre Vänner as Head of Book Acquisitions, then Head of Development.

Netflix announced last month the opening of a Nordic hub in Stockholm, with a satellite office in Copenhagen, to be closer to the Nordic professionals, talents and key decision-makers.
