After Norway and Sweden, Viaplay streaming customers can now access more than 15 TV channels including Yle1, Yle2, Yle Teema & Fem and MTV3. Other channels that Finnish customers can access for free via VIASAT or by paying €5 on top of Viaplay’s subscription include Sub, TV5, Kutonen, TLC, FOX, AVA, Frii, National Geographic, Discovery, Euronews, MTV and Eurosport 1.

Viaplay’s full monthly subscription fee in Finland is €34.99 for the full package of films, series, kids series, sports, fighting or €29.99 for the Sports package.

Anders Jensen, NENT Group President and CEO said: “Viaplay TV is NENT in a nutshell – constantly innovating to deliver an even broader and better experience. We were the first in the Nordic region to launch a full streaming service, then the first to add linear TV channels, and now we’re meeting viewers’ demands in Finland for an even more comprehensive service that seamlessly integrates streaming and channel offerings.”

In its latest Q3 interim report, NENT’s owner MTG Group announced record sales of SEK4.683m (SEK 4.280 in 2017) up 3% in organic growth, and a 28% rise in operating income to SEK 340m (SEK 257m same period 2017).

The group’s President and CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann stressed that Nordic Entertainment delivered its eighth consecutive quarter of higher sales and profits, driven by the group’s streaming services in general, and Viaplay in particular. The group continued to invest in original local dramas and premium sports to boost subscription and consumption levels.

NENT Group has over 50 original scripted dramas available or in development, including Alex, Black Lake, The Lawyer, Hassel, Occupied, and the first Icelandic original series Stella Blómkvist. The Danish show Pro’s and Con’s (Friheden) produced by SAM Production, premieres tomorrow October 24 on Viaplay and TV3.
