Founded in 2008 by veteran Glen Basner, FilmNation Entertainment has a solid track record in film production and financing of titles such as Arrival and The Big Sick.
On the international distribution side, the company has handled award-winning UK productions such as The King’s Speech and The Imitation Game.
TV series in development include HBO’s I Know This Much is True starring Mark Ruffalo and Hulu’s The House of the Spirits.
Through their new UK TV drama joint-venture, operating under the FilmNation brand, the two leading independent groups will collaborate with UK studios, talents and co-financiers and strengthen their respective global reach. NENT Group which operates the Nordic streaming service Viaplay will have first option on the exclusive distribution across the Nordics of the joint venture’s upcoming productions.
