Sweden's internationally acclaimed director Lukas Moodysson (pictured) is set to make his comeback with Vi är bäst! (?We are Best!'), a ?happy film full of hope and vitality'. Moodysson's usual collaborator Lars Jönsson from Memfis Film is producing and Svensk Filmindustri will handle the domestic release in 2013.

After his mainstream English language film Mammoth, selected in competition at the 2009 Berlinale, Moodysson had stayed away from filmmaking, but he published two autobiographical novels: ‘Döden & Co' in 2011 and the newly released ‘Tolv månader I skuggan'. With Vi är bäst, the director goes back to a theme explored in his acclaimed directorial debut Fucking Åmål: being different and fighting for your own voice as a teenager.

We are Best takes place in Stockholm in 1982 and how three teenagers roam the streets and have to take care of themselves way too early. The film is based on the director's wife Coco Moodysson's graphic novel Never Goodnight. Shooting is set to start in the fall 2012 at Film i Väst and on location in Stockholm. International sales are handled by TrustNordisk.
