A man presumed dead (Freddie Wise ) is arrested on a ferry between Sweden and Finland, throwing detectives Mariana Hermansson (Mimosa Willamo) and her boss Ewert Grens (Leonard Terfelt) into a series of mysterious events. The case soon reveals a personal connection not only to Hermansson herself, but to a Death Row prisoner in the US and a grieving parent consumed by revenge.
The show is produced by Rachel Bodros Wolgers (I’ll Be Home for Christmas) and Karl Fredrik Ulfung (Box 21, 438 Days) for Miso Film Sweden, with support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Executive producers are Max Hallén, Jonas Allen, Peter Bose and Viaplay's Jon Petersson. Sales are handled by Fremantle.
Viaplay and Miso Film have the rights to four screen adaptations of writing-duo Roslund & Hellström. A new novel about detectives Ewert Grens and Mariana Hermansson, written by Anders Roslund, will be published this fall, according to Viaplay.
