Cecilie Aspenes has joined Miso Film Norge as in-house producer.
Aspenes will report to the company’s managing director and producer Brede Hovland. Before joining the Norwegian office of the Scandinavian production powerhouse Miso Film, Aspenes spent five years at Nordisk Film& TV Fond. She has also worked in development, film and TV production, acquisitions and marketing, for companies including NRK Drama, Maipo Film, Motion Blur and Scanbox Entertainment.
Her role at Miso Film Norge is to focus on new talents and development.
Aspenes said: “It´s a pleasure to have joined Miso Film. The company has some exciting projects lined up, stories that I personally feel are important to tell. I'm looking forward to chasing new projects that fit into Miso´s vision of producing high quality fiction for a wide audience with stories that engage and entertain.”
Miso Film Denmark’s co-founders and producers Jonas Allen and Peter Bose see the appointment of Cecilie Aspenes as another step in building the best production teams in their Norwegian and Swedish outposts. Bose said: “Our ambition is to grow in Sweden and Norway and to be part of the bigger players across the Nordics. When we create high end TV shows such as Acquitted in Norway or Modus in Sweden, we simply need manpower and the right persons for each project.”
Miso Film Norge has several new drama series in its pipeline and is currently developing its first feature film, adapted from Maria Navarro Skaranger’s acclaimed debut novel Alle utlendinger har lukka gardiner ( lit. ‘All the Foreigners Have Their Curtains Closed’). Aspenes said: “The film is a feelgood drama for a young audience, dealing with gender issues, racism, sexuality and relationships. It´s a true girl-power positive movie, set in the East side of Oslo.” The director is newcomer Ingvild Søderlind who won multiple awards with her short film Jenny.
Miso Film’s upcoming premium series include Modus season 2 adapted by Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe from Norwegian crime author Anne Holt’s novels, Warrior by writer/director Christoffer Boe and the first Netflix Danish original The Rain.
