The former DR head of drama will take on the role of head of development and producer at the Fremantle-owned Scandinavian powerhouse August 1, 2022.
Rank has a close relationship with Miso Film’s co-founders Peter Bose and Jonas Allen, having worked for the Copenhagen-based production outfit between 2008-2010, then through his senior positions as commissioner editor for TV2 between 2014-2018, and head of drama for DR between 2018-2021.

Miso Film’s current series slate includes two Viaplay crime shows: Christoffer Boe’s Face to Face S3 starring Lars Mikkelsen, which just wrapped its shoot, and Those Who Kill S3, still filming between Copenhagen and Roskilde.
Miso Film’s Swedish production arm is also producing for Viaplay the feature film R.S.V.P. (Tack för senast!), Swedish remake of Miso Film’s acclaimed 2015 Danish feature Long Story Short by May el-Toukhy. The Swedish version written by Ella Lemhagen is directed by Moa Gammel. Filming is currently underway in Stockholm.
The romantic comedy in nine chapters focus on a different holiday celebration. The main character played by Lisa Carlehed (The Emigrants) is Klara- a 37-year-old single nurse whose perpetual search for love is increasingly causing her to question whether it even exists.
Other cast members include Oscar Töringe (The Thin Blue Line), Christian Hillborg (Young Royals), Liv Mjönes (The Holiday), Johannes Bah Kuhnke (Love & Anarchy), and Felice Jankell (Snabba Cash).
The Viaplay Original feature film will launch directly on the streaming service later this year. Viaplay Content Sales will handle global sales.
