Co-written by Noer with Jesper Fink, his collaborator on the multi-awarded period piece Before the Frost, Birthday Girl tells of a the 42-year-old Nanna who has invited her daughter Cille and her best friend on a cruise to celebrate Cille's 18th birthday. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare, and in order to get justice, Nanna take matters into her own hands.

The film produced by Nordisk Film with support among others from Nordisk Film & TV Fond, is due to open in Denmark April 4, 2024. TrustNordisk handles sales.

Meanwhile Noer’s anticipated prison drama Prisoner which world premiered in competition at Canneseries, is scheduled to premiere on DR September 1st. The series co-directed by Fredrik Louis Hviid stars Sofie Gråbøl, David Dencik, Charlotte Fich, Youssef Wayne Hvidtfeldt and Laura Christensen.
