The drama comedy from the producers of Solsidan and Quicksand, just started post-production and will be delivered to Discovery+/Kanal5 late March 2022.

Based on the popular novel Vi i villa (lit. ’We in the villa’) by Swedish author Hans Koppel, the 6x30’ series reunites concept director Henrik Schyffert (Run Uje Run, Solsidan) who also contributed to the writers’ room, together with head-writer Tove Eriksen Hillblom (Sjölyckan, Solsidan) and episodic writer Maria Nygren (The Hunters, The Lawyer).

In the title roles are Mattias Nordkvist (The Restaurant, Snow Angels, The Wife), Sanna Sundqvist (Bonus Family, Call Mom!), Johan Widerberg (Bäckström, Spring Tide) and Helena Af Sandeberg (Quicksand, Dough).

In the series, Anders (43) lives in a villa with his wife and daughter. He has a perfectly okay job at a motivational speaker agency, he has a rich social life and plays paddle tennis. Everything should be fine. But Anders feels trapped in his own reality and is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Nordkvist describes his character as someone who “struggles so much to fit into a world he does not really want to belong to. I think many will recognise themselves in Anders' slow decline. I definitely do,” he says.

For Schyffert, the series is “so much more than a middle-class satire. “It is about the painful realisation that life has not turned out as intended, and how it can be dark, disgusting, fun, warm and loving at the same time.”

The series is produced by Lejla Bešić for FLX, with support from Nordisk Film m& TV Fond.

Post-production just started after a 40-day shoot and the premiere on the streaming service discovery+ and TV channel Kanal5 in Sweden is set for in 2022.
