The Oslo-based studios have hired two experienced producers and a CFO as part of their drive to create bigger international projects.

Qvisten Animation co-owned by Rasmus A. Sivertsen, is behind some of the most successful Scandinavian animation films in recent years such as the Louis & Luca stop motion trilogy, In the Forest of Huckybucky and Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond which just won an Audience Amanda Award.

In a recent interview with us, CLICK HERE, Sivertsen unveiled his plans to take his “Willy Wonka factory” of 50+ animators and creators to the next step, via international partnerships.

Two newly hired producers with experience in European co-productions will contribute to Qvisten’s expansion:

  • Åshild Ramborg, formerly at Maipo Film, where she worked on Anne Sewitsky’s Homesick and the family fantasy adventure films The Ash Lad, in the Hall of the Mountain King and its sequel The Ash Lad-In Search of the Golden Castle. Ramborg was also Norway’s Producer on the Move at Cannes 2018.
  • Stian Tveiten, who joins from Friland Film. He was notably associate producer on Marius Holst’s drama Congo.

Joining Ramborg and Tveiten is Hans Kristian Lund, seasoned CFO for various film & TV companies including Nordisk Film and ITV Studios Norway.

Commenting on the new hires Qvisten’s managing director Fredrik Kiøsterud said: “Qvisten has set itself the goal of creating great experiences and is now expanding its repertoire in several areas and markets. Good entertainment that engages and means something to our audience, requires the best resources at all levels. We are very happy to strengthen ourselves with these new, very good colleagues. They will clearly contribute to Qvisten achieving its goals of becoming an international player, where uncompromising craftsmanship, good stories and audience's total immersion will illustrate the company's profile.”

Hans Kristian Lund added: "My ambition is to help create both original written projects and concepts, based on well-known brands. It did not take long before I realised that Qvisten has some of the best (and most pleasant) people in Europe in its field. At the same time, I see great opportunities for a greater focus on international financing through co-productions with other talented companies.”

Qvisten Animation’s upcoming projects include Two Buddies and a Badger 2-The Great Big Beast (Knutsen & Ludvigsen 2-Det Store Dyret) co-produced with Tordenfilm, set to open September 25, and Christmas at Cattle Hill (Jul på KuToppen), to be released November 6, 2020.
