Currently on Finnish screens with Naked Harbour (over 82,000 admissions in 5 weeks), Finnish director Aku Louhimies (pictured) is getting ready for his next project Never Forever (Elävien kirjoihin) set to start filming later this month for Blind Spot Pictures.
Scriptwriter Jari Rantala who collaborated with Louhimies on his award-winning Frozen Land is attached to the screen adaptation based on a novel by Marko Kilpi. The project received €630,000 from the Finnish Film Foundation towards its €1.4m budget.
The Finnish Film Foundation also awarded €645,000 to the romantic comedy The Body Fat Index of Love produced by Matila Röhr Nordisk Oy. Shooting of the €1.5m project directed by Mirkko Kuparinen is scheduled for July-August 2012.
Another relationship film, 21 Ways to Ruin a Marriage directed by Johanna Vuoksenmaa (One Foot Under) for Dionysos Films was awarded €560,000. The project is set to start filming in May-June, 2012.
Never Forever, The Body Fat Index of Love and 21 Ways to Ruin a Marriage will be released domestically by Nordisk Film.
