Lost in Africa won the Film & Kino Children's Film Award and its NOK75,000 prize that will go towards the film's theatrical release in Norway, as well as the new ECFA Award. In a statement, the jury of the European Children's Film Association said they were pleased to give their award to a production which "approaches in an original way the subject through a great casting, story structure and truthful social portrayal. It does not only represent an example for European children's film production but it also manages to reach out its important message beyond European borders to all children around the world." The film was produced by Vibeke Windeløv and Karoline Leth for SF Production Denmark, in co-production with S/S Fladen, Sweden with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. LevelK handles world sales in Cannes.
Jitters won the Don Quijote Award from the International Federation of Film Societies (FICC). Produced by the Icelandic Film Company, the film about a 16 year-old boy in search of his sexual identity had already received Best Supporting Actor (Þorsteinn Bachmann) at the last EDDA awards. Jitters is screening at the market in Cannes. Over 98 films screened at Kristiansand that welcomed 15,000 paying visitors and 400 professional guests.
