Laura Christensen had her breakthrough role in 1994 aged 10 in the Danish director’s opening season of The Hospital in which she plays the brain-damaged Mona, wrongly operated. Most recently, the actress has appeared in landmark Nordic series such as The Investigation, Dicte-Crime Reporter and Mammon.

One of Trier’s favourite actors, German actor Udo Kier has played notably in Europa, Melancholia, Dogville. After his role as the demonic Little Brother in The Kingdom’s earlier seasons, he will be Big Brother in the third and final instalment.

Christensen and Kier are the latest additions to the stellar Nordic cast comprising Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Lars Mikkelsen, Bodil Jørgensen, Ghita Nørby, Nicolas Bro, Søren Pilmark and Peter Mygind.

Filming is due to wrap later this summer.
