The experienced producer Lasse Saarinen is going to replace Irina Krohn at the head of the Finnish Film Foundation for a five-year term.

He will take on his new position on August 1st 2016 when Krohn’s two term contract comes to an end.

Saarinen (56) has produced more than 80 films and TV dramas over the last 30 years such as the award-winning film and more recently the comedy drama . He was executive producer on the documentary Return of the Atom (Nordic DOX Award winner at CPHDOX 2015).

Georg Dolivo, Chairman of the Board of the Finnish Film Foundation said: “Lasse Saarinen is versatile and has practical knowledge of the film industry, together with a long-term experience in management. The Board unanimously selected him as the best candidate for the position."
