Inside Göteborg’s Nordic Film Market and TV Drama Vision: bigger, bolder and sold out
Seasoned Head of Industry Josef Kullengård and Head of TV Drama Vision Cia Edström have got the inside information.
Kristina Colliander will take on the role of CEO of Göteborg Film Festival this autumn, bringing with her more than 20 years of leadership experience from the film, media and cultural sectors.
Kristina Colliander is currently CEO of Film Stockholm, where she has worked since 2021 and has been responsible for strengthening film production and developing international collaborations. She has more than 20 years of experience in senior roles across film, media and culture, including serving as Head of Film Funding at the Swedish Film Institute and Head of Programming at SVT, with responsibility for children and youth content.
Colliander has also been Deputy Chairperson on the board of Nordisk Film & TV Fond from January 2020 until the end of December 2022.
Commenting on her new position in the festival’s press release, Colliander said:
“It is both an honour and an inspiration to lead Göteborg Film Festival at a time of significant change in the film and cultural sectors. The festival is a unique meeting place for audiences and the industry, and I look forward to contributing to the continued development of the festival as a relevant and innovative force, both in the Nordic region and internationally.”
From January 29 until February 7, 2027, the Göteborg Film Festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The 2026 edition brought together 2,600 accredited industry delegates from 50 countries. Through TV Drama Vision and the Nordic Film Market, 122 film and series projects were presented, alongside more than 600 meeting events. The public festival attracted 287,000 visits and over 45,000 unique visitors, with 266 films from 76 countries featured in the programme.
Mirja Wester, who served as Göteborg Film Festival’s CEO for ten years, announced last autumn that she will no longer continue as the head of the festival. Until Colliander takes up the position this autumn, Artistic Director Pia Lundberg will serve as Acting CEO of the festival.
