Names of cast members who will take part in the Kon Tiki film adventure were unveiled on Tuesday at the Kon Tiki museum in Oslo. The 31 year-old Pål Sverre Valheim Hagen (Photo - I Travel Alone, Troubled Water) will play the Norwegian expedition leader Thor Heyerdahl.

Swedish star actor Gustaf Skarsgård is also on board, along with Odd-Magnus Williamson, Tobias Santelmann, Anders Baasmo Christiansen, and Jakob Oftebro. "The actors portraying the boys on the raft are all talented and exciting, representing a new breed of Norwegian actors, said co-directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Max Manus). The €10m film based on a script by Petter Skavlan will be shot in seven different countries, from Norway, Sweden, Bulgaria to Thailand. A large part the water scenes will be shot in a large water tank in Malta. Filming will start next month and delivery date is set for 2012.

The €10m  project to be shot both in English and Norwegian, is produced by Aage Aaberge for Nordisk Film Production Norway, with Oscar-winning UK producer Jeremy Thomas (Recorded Picture Company), in co-production with Denmark‘s Nordisk Film and Sweden's Filmlance International, with support from the Norwegian, Swedish and Danish film institutes, Eurimages. Nordisk Film & TV Fond granted a total amount of NOK3Million to the project. World sales are handled by Hanway Films.
