Meta Film is producing.
The children’s film stars Rasmus Bjerg (All Inclusive) and newcomer Alexander Magnússon.
I Am William (Jeg er William) is based on a novel by the acclaimed Kim Fupz Aakeson (Broke, In Order of Disappearance) who adapted it for the silver screen. It’s the story of 11 year-old William who has to live with his unorthodox Uncle Nils’ (Rasmus Bjerg) as his dad has died and his mom is a nut. Uncle Nils likes to drink and gamble and when he gets in trouble with a local gangster it´s up to William to save the day.
Jonas Elmer (Let’s Get Lost) is behind the camera. The film is produced by Meta Film’s Stine Meldgaard and Jakob Høgel. Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen (Melancholia) is executive producer. The film is co-financed by DR and supported by the Danish Film Institute and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
I am William will be released in Danish cinemas in the autumn 2017, courtesy of SF Studios.
