Last night's annual Robert Awards ceremony in Copenhagen was for the first time a celebration of Denmark's top talents in film and television. The Oscar-nominated A Royal Affair won the most Roberts (9) but the top awards for Best Film went to A Hijacking. A favourite with 15 nominations, Zentropa's A Royal Affair won in categories such as Best Director (Nikolaj Arcel), Best Supporting Actor (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard), Best Supporting Actress (Trine Dyrholm), Best Cinematography (Rasmus Videbæk) but missed out on Best Film, Best Script (Tobias Lindholm), Best Actor (Søren Malling) and Best Editing (Adam Nielsen) to Nordisk Film Production's drama A Hijacking that took home a total of 5 Roberts.
Final Cut for Real's The Act of Killing (double winner in Berlin) took home a statuette for Best Documentary, Nimbus Film's You & Me Forever grabbed Best Children and Youth Film and Crone Film's 3D animation film Jelly T Best Original Song.
In the new Robert TV categories, DR's third and final season of the hit crime series The Killing snatched four Roberts for Best Danish Drama series, Best Actress (Sofie Gråbøl) Best Actor (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) and Best Supporting Actor (Olof Johannesen) while DR's Christmas calendar series The Christmas Star won Best Supporting Actress (Birthe Neumann).
Nordisk Film & TV Fond was associated to a total of 22 Robert awards for the films A Royal Affair, A Hijacking, Love is All You Need, The Act of Killing, Jelly T, the TV series The Killing Season 3 and The Christmas Star.
The YouBio Audience Awards for Best Comedy went to Susanne Bier's Love is All You Need, Best Drama to last year's Top Danish film This Life, and Best TV series to The Killing 3.
