After Justice League and I Remember You, the singer/actress joins a stellar cast in HBO Europe’s first Norwegian drama series, which started shooting last week in Oslo.
The high concept sci-fi TV show Beforeigners (6x45’) from Lilyhammer co-creators Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin, is directed by Jens Lien (Viva Hate, The Bothersome Man) for Rubicon TV. Executive Producers for HBO Europe are Hanne Palmquist, Steve Matthews and Antony Root.
In the series, Ágústa Eva Erlensdottir plays Urd, a friend to police officer Lars Haaland (Nicolai Cleve Broch) who works in the integration programme. Haaland is in charge of investigating the murder of a woman from the Stone Age, a ‘Beforeigner’ or person from the past who has mysteriously reappeared. Haaland’s side kick is Alfhildr (Krista Kosonen), who comes from the Viking Age. Together they unravel a conspiracy behind the origin of the mysterious mass arrivals of Beforeigners.
New cast members announced include Occupied’s Stig Amdam, Ragnhild Gudbrandsen and Oddgeir Thune, Kyrre Haugen Sydness (Lilyhammer) Stig Henrik Hoff (Hawaii, Oslo) and Eili Harboe (Thelma).
The Norwegian series which was granted NOK 4,075,000 (€418,000) in tax rebates from the Norwegian Film Institute, will also be shot partly in Lithuania.
Beforeigners will premiere exclusively on HBO Nordic and in HBO Europe territories, and will be available on HBO in the US, including the HBO GO, HBO NOW and HBO On Demand platforms. The premiere is set for 2019.
HBO Nordic’s first original commissioning, the Swedish show Gösta directed by Lukas Moodysson is now in the editing stage and is scheduled to premiere the second half of 2019.
