The Swedish producer will reunite with Dramacorp’s founder Patrick Nebout with whom he produced the series Midnight Sun and film The Hundred-Year-Old Man….
Currently creative director and exec producer at Stockholm-based Nice Drama, Jansson-Schweizer has spent the last ten years at the company, originally founded by him and Nebout, before the latter set up his own shop Dramacorp in 2016, with the backing of majority-shareholder Beta Film.
During their time together at Nice Drama, Jansson-Schweizer and Nebout produced the French/Swedish series Midnight Sun, the Swedish archipelago drama Thicker than Water (based on an idea by Jansson-Schweizer) and the international box office film hit The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared.
Jansson-Schweizer was also director/exec producer of the documentary Superswede about F1 champion Ronnie Peterson and co-creator/writer/exec producer of the Viaplay series Hassel.
Jansson-Schweizer who joins Dramacorp as creative director and exec producer said: “After ten great years at Nice Drama, it feels the right time to reunite with Patrick and take part in the Dramacorp adventure. As always, when Patrick and I get together, we have extremely high ambitions. With Patrick’s international know-how and sense for the market’s zeitgeist, I truly believe there’s no limit to what we can achieve.”
Nebout added: “This really is a ‘getting the band back together’ moment. Henrik is one of this industry’s finest and most experienced creative executives. I’m thrilled to have him join the Dramacorp team as we up our game further and expand our activities to international shows.”
Dramacorp’s current drama projects include the YA supernatural drama Cryptid, set to start filming in August for Viaplay, the survival thriller The Head, co-produced with Spain’s Mediapro, and the English-language anticipation series Rare, co-produced with Canada’s Bron Studios and Paris-based Isolani Pictures.
