The annual ?Gullruten' television awards in Norway held last Friday evening in Bergen, was a triumphal night for national public broadcaster NRK that won 10 of 15 awards, including Best Drama series and Best Actress (Maria Bonnevie) for the TV series Harry & Charles by Marit Moum Aune.
The NRK series produced by Anne Birte Brunvold Tørstad details the 6-8 months period in the life of Prince Carl of Denmark (Charles) and Princess Maud (Harry) of Wales before they became the King and Queen of Norway in 1905. The Scandinavian cast includes Maria Bonnevie, Jakob Cedergren, (photo), Anders Berthelsen, and Laura Bro. The TV series also won Best Script (by Sweden's Jonas Cornell), Best Photo (Lars Vestergaard), and Best Set Design (Siri Langdalen and Per Berge). Harry & Charles was aired on NRK last Christmas. It will be programmed on SVT to coincide with the wedding on June 19 of Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria. The series was sold by NordicWorld to DR and another six broadcasters are in negotiations.
The Gullruten for Best Norwegian Documentary of the year went to My Mother's Farm by Ilze Burkovska Jacobsen (Bivrost Film & TV), Best Actor to Gard Eidsvold for NRK's mini-series God Natt elskede. TV2 Norway won four Gullruten awards including Best Factual (Jakten på den mistenkte).
