The Swedish actress who won a Kristallen award for her role in Quicksand, is collaborating again with FLX on their latest youth series, currently filming in Stockholm.
In the 8x22’ series, Ardéhn plays Nora (24) who enjoys her close friendship with Alina (Tina Pour Davoy) and Doris (Doreen Ndagire) and her new job at a newspaper. But her life is changed forever when she is told that she has a malignant tumour like a big ball, growing in her stomach. Despite exhausting chemotherapy sessions, she is determined to live life to the fullest.
Actress Susanne Thorson (Gåsmamman, Alex, Likea) who makes her directorial debut, had the idea for the show when she saw a clip on Cancerfonden (The Cancer Fund) about real life Lovisa Ström, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in her early 20s and found strength during her treatment thanks to her friends. “I was incredibly taken by Lovisa's clip so I contacted her and told her about my thoughts. Above all, it was the hopefulness and the way she and her close ones handled this dark situation that captured me and when we talked, Live Life was born."
Thorson who developed the idea for the series with Ström, said they want “to tell a story about cancer but which is not just about illness, but about hope, friendship and actually celebrating the moments in life that we get.”
The series is written by Carl-Petter Montell (Eagles), with Vera Herngren and Felicia Danielsson, co-writers of the comedy series Likea.
FLX’s Moa Blom Kornblad is producing and Julia Lennartsson and Jonas Åhlund are executive producing, alongside Viaplay’s Oskar Arulf.
“Our latest Viaplay Original is a young adult show with something to say to everyone”, said Filippa Wallestam, Viaplay Group CCO. “Live Life brings a hopeful perspective to one of the toughest situations a person can go through. The hugely talented team, which includes some of the biggest new Nordic stars, completely wowed us with their pitch, and I’m sure they’ll do the same to Viaplay viewers with this unforgettable show.”
The series is due to premiere on the Nordic streamer in 2023. Viaplay Content Sales handles global distribution.
