As senior advisor, Wiedemann will be working closely with EWC director Thomas Gammeltoft and senior executive Noemi Ferrer.

Seasoned Danish screenwriting expert Wiedemann has worked with a range of name writers/directors including Thomas Vinterberg, Susanne Bier and Lars von Trier.

Most recently she collaborated with EWC’s partner Le Groupe Ouest, on their script development programme ‘Less Is More’, and with Torino Film Lab on previous sessions of EWC. She also served as director of the National Film School of Denmark.

“This makes her the perfect match and upgrade for us, “said Gammeltoft.

Discussing her new role at European Writers Club, Wiedemann said: “The purpose of EWC is to support writers in developing significant stories for the TV series format and establish a safe space for increased creative dialogue with other writers, producers, broadcasters, and distributors. It also aims to increase the likelihood the stories will reach a wider European audience. I look forward to working with the European Writers' Club on this endeavour.”

Due to launch October 10 at this week’s MIA Market in Rome, EWC’s new pilot session Boosting Impact’s primary goal is to foster collaboration between the world of journalism and storytellers of scripted series, with the objective of creating societal and engaging stories rooted in real events, able to resonate with a broad European and global audience.
