The senior Nordic executive will take on the newly created post of Head of Scripted-Nordics, starting September 1st, as well as Managing Director of Filmlance.
Her appointment is part of an overall move from the giant media group to consolidate its scripted activities in the Nordics.
Palmquist who is currently Commissioning Editor & VP Original Programming, HBO Nordics, will report to Lars Blomgren, Head of Scripted - EMEA at Endemol Shine Group (ESG). She will be responsible for all scripted content originating from ESG’s Nordic brands including Rubicon in Norway, Endemol Shine Finland, Metronome Denmark, as well as Filmlance in Sweden.
As the new Managing Director at Filmlance she will replace Anders Landström who will go back to more hands-on production activities as Executive Producer at the established production company in charge of high-end series for the local and international market.
Meanwhile Helena Åkerman who worked for ten years at SVT as Head of Business Affairs, is joining ESG’s Nordic team as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Legal and Business Affairs Scripted Nordics.
Palmquist is a former CEO at Nordisk Film & TV Fond. At HBO she has spearheaded their scripted content in the Nordics since 2016, and commissioned acclaimed TV shows such as Memfis Film’s Gösta, Rubicon’s Beforeigners and Filmlance’s upcoming Beartown.

I’m looking forward to standing behind original, powerful and engaging content.”
Under Anders Landström’s aegis since 2018, Filmlance has produced for SVT the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize nominated series Caliphate - one of SVT Play’s most downloaded dramas ever since its launch January 12 - as well as the mini-series Tsunami which premiered February 3rd.
Upcoming Filmlance produced series include C More/TV4’s Top Dog based on a book trilogy by Jens Lapidus, The Sandhamn Murders season 7 (films 10-13 in the series) and a new Beck series (films 39-42), currently in production. HBO’s Beartown based on Fredrik Backman’s eponymous novel is due to premiere later this year.
Filmlance’s feature film slate includes Henrik Schyffert's feature debut Uje - FIPRESCI and Audience Prize winner in Göteborg - set to open March 20 in Sweden via TriArt, and the family film Eva & Adam currently filming.
Endemol Shine Group - recently acquired by French group Banijay - controls a total of 120 production labels across 20 markets.
