The CPH:DOX Audience award winner City of Ghosts is among the upcoming documentaries to be released in the Nordics and Baltics.

Stockholm-based leading independent Non-Stop Entertainment will release Matthew Heineman’s film City of Ghosts in Sweden in the fall 2017 and will partner with Miracle Films in Denmark for the Danish theatrical release. Amazon Studios will supervise the US cinema release on July 14.

Most new documentaries were Sundance or/and CPH:DOX premieres:

  • Devil’s Freedom (Mexico) about Juarez, the city on Northern Mexico with the most murders in the world, was acquired from Films Boutique for Scandinavia and the Baltics
  • Dina (US) which won Sundance Grand Jury Prize was acquired from Dogwoof for Scandinavian and the Baltics
  • Dries (Belgium/Germany) about fashion designer Dries van Noten was acquired from Dogwoof for Scandinavia and the Baltics
  • Score: A Film Music Documentary (US) which explores the process of music composing was acquired from Cinetic Media for Scandinavia and the Baltics
  • Whose Street (US) about Black Lives Matter activists was bought from Submarine for Scandinavia, the Baltics and Benelux
  • The Worker’s Cup which looks at migrant workers in Qatar building the facilities for the 2022 World Cup was acquired from Autlook for Scandinavia and the Baltics
  • 78/52 by Alexandre O. Philippe which deconstructs the iconic shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho was acquired from Dogwoof for Scandinavia and the Baltics.
