The Swedish/Icelandic musician, songwriter, music producer and actress Edda Magnason (pictured) made her screen debut in Per Fly’s Waltz for Monica, in which she made a moving and convincing performance as iconic jazz singer Monica Zetterlund. The film is this year’s biggest hit on Swedish screens.
Jakob Oftebro (below left) has had a meteoric acting career since he left Norway’s National Academy of Theatre High School in 2004. On his film credit are Max Manus, Kon-Tiki, Victoria, The Hidden Child and TV series The Bridge and Lilyhammer. In 2014 he will be seen in Ole Bornedal’s historical epic 1864, Hans Petter Moland’s comedy The Prize Idiot and Christian E. Christiansen’s car racing thriller On the Edge.
A graduate from the Danish National School of Theatre, Danica Curcic (below right) has appeared in several major theatre productions at the Royal Danish Theatre and in the TV series Those Who Kill, Wallander and The Bridge. In 2014 she will be revealed in four films, holding a major role in Christiansen’s On the Edge, Mikkel Nørgaard’s The Absent One, Bille August’s family drama Silent Heart and in Hella Joof’s comedy Malta-All Inclusive.
The Scandinavian acting trio was selected by the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish film institutes.
