The Swedish political thriller The Inner Circle, Norwegian dramedy Melk and true crime The Oslo Killing will be available to Globoplay subscribers late 2019.
The Scandi series were part of a five-title package negotiated by DRG’s SVP Americas, Scott Kirkpatrick, and TV Globo’s Luiz Felipe Reis for the top Brazilian group’s SVOD service Globoplay.
The 8x60’ The Inner Circle (Den inre cirkeln) is about an ambitious man who’ll stop at nothing to become Prime Minister, was created and co-written by Håkan Lindhé, nominated for the 2019 Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. The Fundament Film production premiered on NENT Group’s streaming service Viaplay in March.
The 10x30’ dramedy Melk tells of two single moms who try to make both ends meet by moving in together. The series produced by Anagram Norway premiered on TV3 and Viafree in 2017. A second season is currently in production.
The 6x60’ true crime The Oslo Killing directed by Ingrid Wevang, centres on a woman who tries to seek justice across Norway, Spain, Argentina and the U.S., for her mother’s murder more than 40 years earlier. The documentary series was produced by Monster for Discovery Networks Norway and Sundance Now.
The two other titles which were part of the TV Globo deal were the UK drama The Cry and documentary North Korea – Voices From the Secret State.
