For the first time, pubcasters DR and TV2 did not qualify for TVPRISEN’s prize “Best Long Form Scripted”. NFTVF has gathered selected takeaways.

For the second year in a row, the Danish Producers' Association's big industry event, TVPRISEN, unfolded Friday evening in DR’s grand Concert Hall.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond News attended TVPRISEN, a key industry event where an industry jury awards the finest work in all genres. This year, hosts Signe Lindkvist and Mathias Helt also honoured youth in the TV industry as the recurring theme for the evening, which featured a background choir of upcoming TV talents on stage.

Among Friday night’s takeaways were a surprise big drama winner, a high-profile documentary prize, and a public service dating show.

Prime Video’s well-produced prize-winner

Pubcaster DR landed 9 out of 18 awards, but one of the most prestigious wins, “Best scripted series” (long), was picked up by a global streamer.

Bullshit, streamed by Prime Video, originally produced by Nordisk Film Productions for Viaplay, and supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, received the coveted prize for best drama.

"The series is a brave and ambitious project with high quality cinematography. It stands out with its attention to details, camerawork and the acting – it's fantastically produced," the jury said.

“It has been a long struggle for this series,” producer Malene Blenkov said on stage, referring to the fact that the show began as a Viaplay project.

In February, the series Bullshit also swept several TV categories at the Robert Awards.

TV2’s family comedy The Best Years (De Bedste År) collected the second scripted award for Best Short Form Scripted. The show has aired on TV 2 Echo and TV 2 Play, and is produced by The Bunch.

TV2’s much watched and highly debated documentary The Black Swan (Den sorte Svane), produced by Wingman Media and TV 2 Dokumentar and supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, took the prize for Best Series Facts and Documentary.

”We have been part of something that reverberated and had an effect. The Black Swan has opened a new space for talking about financial crime, especially money laundering,” journalist and docu-director Mikkel Brügger said on stage, referring to high ratings and widespread critique of the journalistic methods.

The Best Docu Series award went to Fighting Demons With Dragons (Med drager mod dæmoner) produced by Final Cut for Realon DR and supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Looks cheap, but...

Funny, entertaining TV can be simple and relatively inexpensive, as Operarejsen seems to prove. This DR show from A&M Productions was awarded the Best Character Driven Series prize; however, Operarejsen’s team entered the stage with a Dolly Parton quote: “It takes a lot of time and money to look this cheap, honey.”

DR took home the prize for Best New Creation 2025, Døm vores forhold, a dating show produced by DR Ung for DR.

The jury said: "…it is great dating TV with a strong narrative. The programme feels real, you get up close and personal with the cast, who are treated with respect. It's simply formatted, a great quality."

The evening wasn’t exactly littered with surprises, but Viaplay’s Robinson Ekspeditionen in its 25th season took home the Best Reality Show prize. A little late, but perhaps fitting, since the show practically invented the quintessential reality format in Denmark in late 1998.

"(Viaplay) manages to twist a format that we have watched for years, and through a phenomenal cast and wonderful competitions, they created an expedition that glues you to the screen and entertains you throughout. It's good work,” the jury said.
