In its January round of support, the Fund allocated NOK2.5 million to the Norwegian series Dome 16 and NOK 500,000 to the Danish documentary The Fake Will.

Production Support

TV Series

  • Dome 16
    Format: 10x20’
    Grant: NOK2.5 million
    Recipient: Tordenfilm, Norway
    Producers: Eric Vogel, Ingunn Sundelin
    Writer: Thomas Seeberg Torjussen
    Director: Thomas Seeberg Torjussen
    Commissioning broadcaster: NRK Super
Story: The adventure love story is set 120 years from now. Anton (14) lives in a dome, free from pollution and radiation, large enough to house an entire city. Life inside the dome is for the privileged, with life expectancy at 160, versus just 60 outside the protected zone. Anton who is craving for adventure meets Emma (14), part of a large clan outside the Dome, who occasionally enters the protected zone with her mum, to do small jobs. While anger and revolt rages outside the dome, the two embark on a relationship and will turn both of their worlds upside down to be together.

Pitched at last year’s Berlinale Copro-Series, the youth series is the latest TV drama from ZombieLars co-creator Thomas Seeberg Torjussen who described it as “a metaphor for inequality, with climate change as a backdrop.” “I want to tackle important issues, without dumbing down, and lift the sci-fi love story with humour, lots of humour and cool gadgets for teens and adults,” he said.

The series is co-produced by Big Blue’s Fleur Winters in the Netherlands, with co-financing from DR, SVT, Yle, Storyline Studios, NPO, BNNVARA, Creative Europe among others.
Cast & crew will be announced late April-early May.
