In The Dreamer-Becoming Karen Blixen, Danish star actress Connie Nielsen plays the iconic author of Out of Africa, not yet recognised for her craftsmanship, struggling to find her place in Danish society in the 1930s, after many years spent in East Africa. The series created by Dunja Gry Jensen for Zentropa had its world premiere at Canneseries 2022. Viaplay and TrustNordisk share sales.

In the 8-part Swedish psycho-thriller Riding in Darkness based on true events, Jonas Karlsson interprets the charismatic Tommy, owner of an equestrian centre, but also a cynical manipulator and sexual predator. The show created by Ulf Kvensler for Jarowskij premiered on C More last November. Wild Bunch TV handles sales.

The third Nordic programme set to run at the prestigious International Emmy Awards, is the Finnish animation series Moominvalley-season 3 produced by Gutsy Animations for Yle and Sky. The series based on Tove Jansson’s characters, won earlier best animation and best storytelling at the Shanghai TV Festival.
A total of 65 nominees across 14 categories spanning 20 countries will be competing at the 51st International Emmy Awards. The final winners will be announced in New York November 20, 2023.
