The Danish comedy-drama produced by Apple Tree Productions for TV2 was among nine premium fiction series showcased at the 62nd Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
The Golden Nymph for Reuther’s role as Joy in Chorus Girls, is the young Danish actress’ second major international win after her best actress accolade at Series Mania 2021 for her performance in HBO Max’s Kamikaze. Reuther also starred in Lars von Trier’s The Kingdom-Exodus
and was named Shooting Star in Berlin 2022.
The feelgood period series Chorus Girls
(Dansegarderoben) which attracted more than a million combined viewers on TV2 Denmark when it premiered earlier this year, is still to air on SVT in Sweden and RÚV in Iceland. ITV Studios handles sales.
Besides Chorus Girls, the Norwegian co-production The Seed came home with a Golden Nymph for Best Creation and a BetaSeries Public Prize. The high-end German environmental thriller set in Northern Norway is co-produced by Norway’s Rein Film for ARD Degeto and NRK.
